Job Summary The Loss Control Manager is responsible for developing and leading the organization's workplace safety, loss prevention, regulatory compliance, and operational risk reduction. This leadership role partners with internal teams, insureds, and external stakeholders to identify exposures, implement effective risk mitigation programs, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance and claim outcomes. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise in workers' compensation and risk management, coupled with the ability to influence, educate, and build strong business relationships. Duties Lead the development and execution loss control strategies designed to reduce workplace injuries and improve overall risk performance. Oversee the evaluation of workplace environments, operational practices, and safety controls to identify exposures and recommend corrective actions. Analyze loss trends to uncover patterns, measure program effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and business partners, providing practical guidance on risk mitigation, workplace safety, and regulatory compliance. Direct the design, implementation, and enhancement of safety and loss prevention programs, including educational initiatives and training resources. Ensure compliance with applicable workers' compensation, workplace safety, and insurance-related regulations at the federal, state, and local levels. Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development to the risk management team, fostering a high-performance and service-oriented culture. Collaborate with underwriting, claims, operations, and executive leadership to support organizational risk objectives and business goals. Evaluate and leverage technology solutions to strengthen reporting, analytics, workflow efficiency, and risk management outcomes. Develop and maintain strategic relationships with policyholders, brokers, consultants, vendors, and industry partners. Lead special projects and other initiatives in support of departmental and organizational objectives. Skills Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Safety Management, Insurance, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 7+ years of progressive experience in risk management, loss control, safety, workers' compensation, or a related insurance discipline, including leadership experience. Strong expertise in Workers' Compensation and Employers' Liability. Knowledge of insurance operations, claims management, underwriting principles, and loss prevention methodologies. Familiarity with applicable workplace safety regulations and compliance standards. Professional designations such as CRM, ARM, CPCU, CSP, or equivalent are a plus. Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive organizational change. Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Strong project management and organizational capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, data analysis tools, and risk management systems. Willingness to travel as needed.
Pay:
$120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
