Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dependable, organized, and client-focused Legal Assistant to join our New Milford office. This full-time position provides administrative, front desk, and legal support to attorneys, paralegals, and clients, with a focus on estate planning matters. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to support both daily office operations and time-sensitive legal workflows. Duties
  • Assist attorneys and paralegals with administrative tasks, including data entry, copying, scanning, filing, correspondence, calendars, and document organization.
  • Prepare, assemble, mail, and organize estate planning documents, client packets, signing materials, and related correspondence.
  • Support client signing appointments, including preparing materials and serving as a witness when needed.
  • Support the estate planning team with mailings, scanning, land records mailings, conflict check support, conforming, file closing tasks, and other administrative or legal support assignments
  • Provide front desk coverage, greet clients and visitors, answer calls, schedule appointments, and support client intake.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, FedEx coordination, document mailings, and filings with town clerks or other third parties.
  • Assist with maintaining original documents and records.
  • Support office operations by preparing conference rooms, stocking supplies, coordinating supply needs, and assisting the estate planning team with overflow tasks.
  • Assist with Marketing events Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritize workload effectively
  • Previous experience working in a professional office setting is preferred
Pay:
From $20.00 per hour
