First things first — who are we? Our mission is short and it means everything to us: we rebuild lives by telling people's stories. People come to us on some of the worst days of their lives. An injury is never just a case file or a medical bill — it hits someone's health, family, job, money, and confidence all at once. Our job is to understand the whole story and make sure it gets heard, loud and clear. When we do that well, we help people get their dignity — and their lives — back. Where are we headed? We're building the gold standard for client care with proven expertise, meticulous work, a focus on giving back, and a team that actually loves showing up. We're not here to be "fine" or "good enough." We're building something people trust, respect, and remember. And we're growing fast. The role As a Litigation Paralegal, you're the engine of our litigated cases — the person who builds the record, drives discovery, guards every deadline, and makes sure our attorneys walk into every deposition, mediation, and trial ready to go. You won't be flying solo, either: you'll be part of a tight three-person pod — one attorney, one paralegal (that's you), and one legal assistant — running your cases from the complaint all the way through resolution.
Real talk on the caseload:
it's a blended docket of about 30-40 cases in active litigation plus 40-50 pre-litigation cases . You'll bounce between building litigated files and pushing pre-suit cases toward the finish line. It moves fast — and if that gets you a little fired up, keep reading. Is this you? Read these. If you're nodding along and thinking "yep, that's literally me" — hit apply. You come alive when a case is active. Discovery, depos, motions, trial prep? Bring it on. That's the fun part. Deadlines don't scare you — you scare them. You calendar everything, work backward, and stay three steps ahead. You're a dog with a bone. Records, a lien balance, an adjuster ghosting you? "No" and dead ends don't stop you — you follow up, get creative, and find it where no one else would think to look. You'd genuinely rather just call than send the fifth email. A two-minute phone call beats a week of back-and-forth. Checking things off your to-do list hits different. A cleared list is a genuine dopamine hit. You're tech-savvy and actually like new tools. Software and e-filing don't intimidate you — you're hunting for the faster way. Little details jump out at you, and loose ends bug you until they're tied up. You do what you say you'll do. And if something slips, you say so early instead of going quiet. You genuinely like people. You can be warm with a client in pain and still keep the bar high. "That's how we've always done it" makes you twitch. You're always tweaking things to make them better. What you'll actually be doing Pleadings, discovery & motions. Draft and file complaints, discovery, and motions; handle service and affidavits. Run written discovery start to finish — interrogatories, RFPs, RFAs, defense responses, plaintiff responses, verifications, and 5.2 certificates. Prep case management orders, joint reports, and initial disclosures. Deadlines & case management. Calendar and own every court and discovery deadline, working backward from the big dates so nothing ever sneaks up. Keep the file clean, indexed, and always ready to roll. Depos, mediation & trial prep. Schedule and notice depositions, prep materials and exhibits, coordinate mediations, and pull together trial packages — subpoenas, witness lists, exhibits, stipulations, jury instructions, and verdict forms. Pre-lit docket & client care. Run your pre-litigation caseload (~40-50 cases) alongside the litigated ones. Keep clients in the loop, track treatment, records, and lost wages, handle Ante-Litem notices, demand letters, medpay, and lien negotiation. Resolution & close-out. Build disbursement sheets with the attorney, process releases, get clients and providers paid promptly and accurately, close out any pre-settlement loans, and file the final paperwork.
