Job Description

Position Summary Zukowski, Roges, Flood & McArdle, a midsize law firm based in Crystal Lake, Illinois. We pride ourselves on providing unparalleled service to clients, and we are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant to support attorneys and legal staff in managing day-to-day legal operations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong administrative abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment. Ideally, we are looking for a candidate with experience in residential and commercial real estate transactions. Key Responsibilities Prepare, draft, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and reports. File legal documents with courts, agencies, and other organizations as required. Maintain and organize client files, case records, and legal databases. Schedule meetings, court dates, hearings, depositions, and appointments. Conduct basic legal research and gather relevant case information. Communicate professionally with clients, courts, attorneys, and external parties. Manage attorney calendars and monitor important deadlines. Assist with case preparation, document review, and trial support. Process incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and legal correspondence. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive legal and client information. Required Skills Excellent organizational and time-management skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment. Customer service-oriented approach when interacting with clients and stakeholders. Experience working in a fast-paced legal environment. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Word-processing ability of 80+ words per minute with high degree of accuracy. Excellent attention to detail. Strong organizational skills. Preferred skills and qualifications
  • 2-3 years working in a law firm
  • Knowledge of online court filing systems
  • Experience working with multiple lawyers simultaneously
  • Experience using dictation and transcription software
  • Knowledge of title insurance and escrow procedures.
  • Experience with electronic recording systems and real estate closing software.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal real estate regulations.
Work Environment In-Person office-based position. Regular interaction with attorneys and clients. Ability to work under deadlines and manage a high volume of transactions.
