As a Legal Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our legal services while gaining valuable experience in various facets of law. This paid position is perfect for someone eager to develop their legal support expertise in a fast-paced, professional environment. Duties Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and coordinating meetings. Draft, review, and proofread legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with precision and attention to detail. Manage case files using document management systems like Practice Master; ensure proper filing, organization, and confidentiality of sensitive information. Assist with client communication by preparing summaries, transcriptions, and maintaining professional phone etiquette during interactions. Support litigation processes by reviewing documents for relevance and accuracy; assist with civil litigation support tasks including document review and procedural law compliance. Conduct research on specialized areas such as estate planning, Medicaid, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, securities law, landlord-tenant issues, immigration law, family law, environmental law, and general & commercial litigation. Qualifications Proven experience as a paralegal or legal assistant with familiarity in multiple practice areas listed above. Strong knowledge of procedural law and legal case management systems such as Practice Master and Netdocs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel PowerPoint) and document processing tools; experience with legal writing and drafting essential. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining accuracy. Effective communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration; professional phone etiquette required. Experience supporting attorneys in estate planning, estate administration, Medicaid, or related fields is highly preferred. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly with integrity; strong proofreading and transcription skills are necessary.
