MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Draft legal documents and correspondence, such as Letters of Representation, request for documentation and information. Some documents will be in the form of templates pre-created by Lawrence & Associates, while others require original drafting. For anything originally drafted by the legal assistant/paralegal, the firm expects the legal assistant/paralegal to proofread the work, including checks for proper spelling, grammar, and formatting. • Maintain e-filing in proper order. While paper files are maintained by the administrative staff, digital client files are the responsibility of the responsible attorney's team. Disorderly files can lead to lost documents and can cause the attorney to make an error in litigating or managing the claim. Legal assistants/paralegals should know how to properly name a file, and how to properly categorize the documents in the file so they can be easily found. In addition, Legal assistants/paralegals are charged with checking the supervising attorney's \"Scanned Mail\" folder, which contains e-copies of all incoming mail and faxes, for placement in the appropriate client's e-file. • Request, understand, and summarize medical records.
