The strongest candidates will be detail-oriented, exercise sound judgment, solve problems effectively, and manage multiple priorities under deadlines. They will be proactive self-starters with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Flexibility and a willingness to support all practice areas are essential. We are willing to train the right candidate. The Legal Assistant will provide administrative support to attorneys, including, but not limited to, the responsibilities listed below.

Responsibilities:

Format, edit, and proofread legal documents. Prepare and organize closing binders and other assigned documentation. Perform administrative tasks, including conflict checks, opening new matters, preparing engagement letters, and processing check requests. Organize, update, and maintain paper and electronic client files. Prepare and maintain pleading indexes. Maintain attorneys' calendars by scheduling appointments and tracking case deadlines. Coordinate and schedule meetings, conference calls, and Teams or Zoom calls. Heavy client contact.

Qualifications include:

Prior legal assistant experience preferred. Experience in a law firm or large office environment. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience filing legal documents with courts; Probate Court e-filing knowledge preferred. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent attention to detail in proofreading, formatting, and redlining documents. High ethical standards, discretion, and a strong commitment to confidentiality. High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.

Schedule, Compensation and Benefits:

This is an in-office position, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The hourly rate ranges from $26.00 to $28.00, commensurate with experience.
