Position Type:
Part-Time (4-6 hours/week to start; Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM are required in-office hours, with the remaining 0-2 hours flexible) Position Summary The Legal Assistant Student Worker provides essential clerical and operational support to the Administrative and Fund Development teams. This position is ideal for a student looking to gain professional office experience in a supportive, fast-paced nonprofit environment. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of handling confidential information with the utmost professionalism. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities & Duties 1. Front Desk & Safety Support Greet clients, visitors, and staff with a professional and welcoming demeanor. Maintain office security protocols by verifying visitor and client identities with appropriate program staff prior to building entry. Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls efficiently to the correct staff members. Take accurate, detailed messages and manage general inquiries. 2. Clerical & Core Administration Process incoming mail and packages (collecting, logging, sorting, and distributing); prepare outgoing mailings, including envelope preparation and postage. Perform precise data entry to maintain accurate organizational and donor databases. Scan, copy, file, and archive both physical and digital documents. Maintain overall office organization, including tracking, auditing, and stocking office supplies, forms, and common areas. Assist with special administrative projects as assigned by the executive leadership team (CEO, COO, or Administrative Director). 3. Program, Event & Meeting Assistance Assist in assembling meeting materials, agendas, and presentation packets when requested. Provide logistical and administrative support for company events and meetings. Help draft basic correspondence, templates, or administrative forms as directed. ________________________________________
Qualifications & Skills Education:
Currently enrolled student in good standing.
Communication:
Excellent interpersonal skills with a confident, professional phone manner and clear facetoface communication.
Technical Skills:
Strong attention to detail, reliability, and basic familiarity with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office suite, Google Workspace).
Confidentiality & Discretion:
Ability to maintain discretion and strictly comply with organizational policies regarding sensitive client, donor, and organizational data.
