Bi-lingual Litigation Paralegal, Personal Injury

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join our team in Plainfield, NJ! This role will join a POD supporting one attorney and working alongside another paralegal. You will manage both prelitigation and litigation matters from start to finish. Successful candidates will be responsible for managing their own caseload while providing exceptional customer service to our clients. Responsibilities Manage cases from prelitigation through litigation. Open and close case files- medical records, police reports, insurance verifications, etc. Prepare for depositions, mediations and trial and assist in all drafting all legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, and more. Coordinate and summarize depositions. Communicate with clients, other law offices, insurance adjusters, medical offices and more. Prepare discovery documents, interrogatories, and responses. Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes. Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices. Manage calendaring for attorney and clients. Draft and serve summons. Conduct legal research as needed. Prepare the disbursement of settlement funds. Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance. Maintain all case notes and updates in our case management system. Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business. Qualifications High School Diploma, Associate's degree, Paralegal Certificate or equivalent. 2-5 years of experience in Personal Injury, Premises, First Party, Medical Malpractice or other injury related practice areas (required). Experience using a Case Management System ( Litify, Needles, Smart Advocate, Filevine, etc.) Ability to multitask, organize, prioritize, handle a fast-paced environment, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as attention to detail. Fluency in English and Spanish, verbally and in writing, (required).
