Job Description We are seeking a meticulous, self-motivated Bankruptcy Chapter 13 Paralegal with a minimum of 2 years of dedicated consumer bankruptcy experience. The ideal candidate is an expert in managing Chapter 13 cases from initial client intake through confirmation and discharge. If you are highly organized, comfortable working independently in a remote setting, and fluent in both English and Spanish (strongly preferred) , we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities Case Management:
Handle high-volume Chapter 13 bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and statements with precision.
Software & E-Filing:
Utilize Best Case software to prepare and review debtor petitions, and file documents efficiently using
ECF/PACER
.
Client Communication:
Gather financial documentation, tax returns, and paystubs from clients; answer questions regarding the Chapter 13 process.
Trustee & Court Coordination:
Communicate routinely with Chapter 13 Trustees, handle audit inquiries, and prepare for 341(a) Meetings of Creditors.
Plan Tracking:
Monitor plan payments, track confirmation timelines, and manage creditor claims and objections.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of dedicated consumer bankruptcy experience (specifically Chapter 13).
Technical Proficiency:
Demonstrated, hands-on experience with Best Case software and federal
ECF/PACER
systems.
Language Skills:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred to effectively serve our diverse client base.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage strict court deadlines independently.
