Legal Assistant/Paralegal Harmony Law - 1.0 Hilliard, OH Job Details Part-time $20 - $26 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description Part-Time Legal Assistant / Paralegal (Estate Planning & Criminal Defense) Harmony Law LLC is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Legal Assistant / Paralegal to support a growing Ohio law practice focused on Estate Planning & Criminal Defense. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys creating efficient systems, learning new technology, and taking ownership of their work. While the role will begin part-time, there is an opportunity for additional hours—and potentially full-time employment in the future—if mutually desired. Full-time employment is entirely optional. Following an initial onboarding period, most work can be performed remotely, with occasional in-office meetings at our Old Hilliard office in Columbus as needed.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will vary from week to week but may include: Preparing and filing routine court documents, including Notices of Appearance, motions, and other standard pleadings. Preparing client onboarding documents and assisting with new client intake. Communicating professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel. Monitoring deadlines and maintaining organized case files. Tracking, organizing, and managing active matters to ensure nothing falls through the cracks. Drafting correspondence and basic legal documents. Formatting, publishing, and organizing educational legal blog articles and website content. Organizing electronic files and maintaining office systems. Assisting with administrative projects and improving office workflows. Learning and implementing new software, automation tools, and AI to improve efficiency. Providing general support for day-to-day law office operations and other responsibilities as the practice continues to grow.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have: Prior experience as a legal assistant or paralegal (preferred). Exceptional attention to detail. Excellent organizational and time management skills. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills. A proactive mindset with the ability to identify problems and propose solutions. Comfort learning new software and technology. Experience using AI tools (such as ChatGPT or similar platforms) professionally, or a genuine enthusiasm for learning how to use them effectively. Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn practice management software. Sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion. The ability to prioritize multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines. Reliable internet access and an appropriate home workspace for remote work.

Compensation:
