Full Description:

Solo practitioner in the East Central, Ohio area seeks a computer literate, highly organized, detail oriented individual to act as an office assistant for a rapidly growing law practice. Our office is located in Thornville, about 30 miles east of Columbus off I-70. This is a part time position that could transition into full time depending on mutual preferences.

Key Responsibilities Include:

1. Calendaring and monitoring deadlines; 2. Setting up and monitoring case-files; 3. Drafting basic correspondences and cover letters; 4. Answering calls (only when Attorney is unavailable); 5. Filling in pre-drafted legal forms; 6. Helping with day to day office functions/issues.

Qualifications:

1. Prior office assistant and/or legal experience preferred; 2. Attention to detail and organizational skills are critical; 3. Ability to meet deadlines; 4. Proofreads all correspondence and double checks all work; 5. Willingness and ability to learn new skills if necessary; 6. Must be comfortable working with computers, Microsoft Office, and windows; 7. Will train the right local candidate regardless of experience. Starting pay is $15-18 per hour, depending on education, ability, and experience. Schedule can be flexible based on mutual preferences.
