Minimal Are you an experienced Family Law Paralegal or Legal Assistant looking for a great opportunity closer to home? A Yukon-based law firm is seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in Family Law to join their team. This position will support 2-3 attorneys and play an important role in keeping cases organized, meeting deadlines, and providing excellent client service. Job Duties
Provide day-to-day legal and administrative support to 2-3 attorneys practicing Family Law.
Maintain organized case files, monitor calendars and deadlines, document case activity, and update case management systems.
Assist with case preparation by maintaining communication with clients and other parties involved in cases.
Schedule depositions, meetings, interviews, and other appointments.
Prepare and file summonses, subpoenas, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
Draft complaints, pleadings, correspondence, discovery, and responses to opposing counsel.
Organize, review, and Bates-stamp documents and evidence for attorney review and case preparation.
Collect, examine, and organize evidence and other legal documents.
Transcribe dictation and prepare pleadings, discovery, and other legal documents.
Maintain regular communication with clients and keep them informed of case progress and important updates.
Conduct legal research on regulations, laws, and legal articles as needed.
Proofread correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents for accuracy and completeness.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information with professionalism and discretion.
Confirm case status and provide updates to attorneys.
Perform additional legal and administrative duties as needed to support the attorneys and the firm.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Family Law Paralegal or Legal Assistant.
Paralegal certificate preferred.
High school diploma or GED required.
Strong knowledge and experience with Family Law procedures and litigation.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience with law firm case management software; experience with Smokeball is preferred.
Strong legal research, writing, and document preparation skills.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
