Job Description

Our Firm:
We are a growing firm that provides high-quality, individualized representation to clients needing assistance in probate court and criminal defense (both retained and court appointed).
Position Description:
This is a fast-paced environment with four attorneys and hundreds of clients. We are looking for someone to support our criminals defense team with administrative tasks including calendaring meetings and court appearances, organizing case files and electronic discovery, and communicating with clients and professional partners such as accountants, healthcare professionals, and private investigators. In-office hours are generally 9:00 - 5:00, but can be adjusted slightly to meet other commitments outside of the office. Some benefits are also negotiable.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will: Have knowledge of Oregon court rules and eFiling in Oregon circuit courts Be an Oregon Notary or ability to become an Oregon Notary (we will pay any costs incurred) Have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Clio legal software Be willing to utilize AI technologies Be highly detail-oriented, organized and proactive Be comfortable with triaging and multi-tasking during fast-paced situations Be able to always maintain friendly and professional communication with clients and co-workers Be able to work in a self-motivated, efficient, and organized manner Be able to anticipate next steps and when to offer assistance to co-workers Some experience in criminal defense a plus
Responsibilities:
Perform data entry tasks to update client information and case details File documents with the court system or other relevant agencies Calendaring tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and organizing meetings Maintain case files in both paper and electronic formats Draft notices, letters and other legal documents Complete forms required by various agency partners (OPDC, DOC, medical facilities, etc) Communicate with clients by letter, telephone, email and/or text regarding court dates, appointments and other obligations Handle administrative tasks such as filing, copying, scanning documents, and answering phones.
Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
