Job Description

CK Law is seeking an organized, compassionate, and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our growing family law practice. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, proposed orders, correspondence, and other legal documents. Prepare and organize case files from intake through final disposition. Maintain case calendars and monitor deadlines. Communicate professionally with clients regarding case status, document requests, scheduling, and procedural questions. Coordinate hearings, mediations, depositions, and consultations. Prepare exhibits, notebooks, and trial materials. Assist attorneys with trial preparation and courtroom support. Review, organize, and summarize financial records, discovery, and evidence. Prepare and file documents through the Texas eFile system. Maintain accurate billing entries and time records. Communicate with courts, opposing counsel, mediators, experts, and other professionals. Ensure client files remain organized and compliant with firm policies. Assist with client intake and onboarding as needed. Support other members of the legal team to ensure efficient case management. Qualifications Associate's degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent legal experience preferred. Minimum of 2 years of paralegal experience preferred (family law experience strongly preferred). Knowledge of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and Texas Family Code. Experience with electronic filing in Texas courts. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and work independently. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with legal case management software is preferred. Skills & Competencies Excellent client service and interpersonal skills. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. High level of discretion and confidentiality. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy. Professional demeanor with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
