Job Duties:
Support processing Public Information Act (PIA) requests submitted to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, including intake, tracking, reviewing documents for responsiveness, and preparing packets for attorney review.
Provide intake support for subpoenas, including logging, verifying scope, routing to assigned attorneys, and assisting with follow-up actions.
Process and track Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) matters, dismissals, and other Human Resources and related issues, ensuring timely handling and accurate documentation.
Assist attorneys with calendaring, including scheduling meetings, deadlines, hearings, and reminders.
Perform telephone support, handling incoming calls, providing general information, routing calls appropriately, and taking accurate messages.
Conduct data entry, maintain electronic and physical files, update case logs, and ensure documents are properly organized and accessible.
Provide general administrative support such as preparing correspondence, proofreading documents, scanning, copying, and maintaining office records.
Coordinate with internal departments to gather information needed for legal responses, HR matters, and other OGC workstreams.
Assist with tracking workloads, deadlines, workload metrics, and status reports for attorneys and management.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the attorneys and overall operations of the Office of the General Counsel.
