Responsibilities Assist attorneys with legal research, case preparation, and drafting of legal documents such as declarations, pleadings, and correspondence. Manage case files using the document management system Smokeball, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Conduct thorough legal research utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other resources to support case strategies. Support procedural law compliance by reviewing documents for accuracy and adherence to court requirements. Coordinate client interviews and maintain effective communication with clients to gather information and provide updates on case status. Organize and file legal documents both electronically and physically; handle incoming correspondence with professionalism. Assist in preparing for hearings, depositions, and meetings by reviewing case materials and summarizing key information. Skills Proven experience as a paralegal or legal assistant with familiarity in estate planning, family law, bankruptcy, or related fields. Strong knowledge of procedural law and legal case management systems such as Smokeball or Clio. Excellent research skills using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for document drafting and communication. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Effective client communication skills with professional phone etiquette. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and responsibly. Experience supporting attorneys in project management tasks across diverse practice areas including securities law, tribal regulations, patent law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant issues, immigration law, and more.
