Parking Enforcement Officer City of Redding - 3.8 Redding, CA Job Details Full-time $48,420 - $61,800 a year 3 hours ago Benefits Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications High school diploma or GED Parking lot monitoring Driver's License Driving Vehicle codes Public relations Local ordinances Entry level Full Job Description Description We are looking for someone to Utilize technology (ALPR, photographs) to enforce metered parking throughout the City in limited parking zone areas and issue citations for vehicles in violation. Issue citations for handicap violations throughout the City, such as on-street and off- street parking lots. Issue citations for on- view violations in fire and loading zones. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the job classification. Qualifications we're looking for Knowledge of Redding Municipal Code parking ordinances and California Vehicle Code parking laws. Ability to interact effectively with the public and employees. Ability to read, understand, and effectively enforce parking laws and regulations; Ability to write legibly and prepare reports Ability to maintain effective public relations; and work under minimum supervision.
Education, Experience and Special Requirements:
Typical education would include a high school diploma, or equivalent. Typical experience would include operation of a motor vehicle. Possession of a California driver's license, or ability to acquire one within ten days of appointment. All applicants must successfully complete a detailed background investigation. Examination Process:
The examination process may include an oral board examination, a written examination, practical examination or any combination thereof. This recruitment will establish an eligibility list that may be used to fill future vacancies.
Selection Process:
Final appointment is contingent upon: Positive past employment references Passing a city paid fingerprint criminal conviction check Passing a pre-employment medical exam and drug and alcohol screening test Positions within the Police Department require applicants pass an extensive background investigation prior to appointment.
Veterans Credit:
Applicants who attach a copy of the DD-214 to their application indicating "Honorable Discharge" from military service and receive a passing score on the examination process will have two (2) additional points added to their final examination score. The City of Redding adheres to Cal/OSHA
