Full-time; 8am-4:30pm M-F (37.5 Hour workweek-Schedule may vary based on assignment)
SALARY RANGE
COMOT III ($2,076.14 - $2,387.12/ bi-weekly)
DESCRIPTION
Incumbent will manage monthly parking accounts, complete monthly contracts and supporting documentation, prepare and send monthly invoices to account holders, reconcile accounts with the Controller's Office, prepare financial reports, process vendor invoices for payment, and maintaining accurate records. Incumbent will coordinate operations of PARCS (Parking Access Revenue Control System) systems. This includes maintenance of entry/exit parking garage terminals, scheduling of gate functions, fee tables, holiday schedules, and activation and issuance of garage badges. Incumbent will serve as Lead Parking technician for the Parking Operation Department. This position is also responsible for enforcing the City's parking codes, regulations, and ordinances to ensure compliance of parking regulations within the City's established boundaries, but primarily in the downtown business district. Incumbent will also serve as a liaison to the public and provide superior customer service to promote Lafayette's Downtown district. Incumbent will perform all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
A background in business or traffic enforcement is preferred. Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle equipped with traffic enforcement systems such as LPR (License Plate Recognition) software and hardware processes. Incumbent must be capable of making practical application of enforcement standards to promote overall parking strategies. Must be able to work in varying weather conditions, lift items 25-50 pounds, crouching/kneeling, pushing/pulling, carrying objects, and driving for an extended period of time. Incumbent will occasionally work extended hours and serve on a 24- hour on call status for exigencies such equipment failure or snow removal. Must be proficient using Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Must be able to prepare professional documents using Word. Must be able to use Outlook to professionally correspond with City staff and the public, maintain current contact lists, and maintain appointments using calendars in Outlook. Must quickly learn and use department software and know how to troubleshoot and analyze software or hardware issues as they arise. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with co- workers, other City personnel, government agencies, various boards and commissions, business representatives, and the general public, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities, and disabilities. Ability to work alone with minimum supervision and in team environment. Ability to work on multiple tasks at the same time and complete assignments effectively amidst frequent distractions and interruptions. Ability to maintain confidentiality as required.
