JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Parking Maintenance Team Member maintains and beautifies the City of Nashua's parking lots and garages, on-street parking spaces, parking meters, and immediate vicinities. Responsible for collecting parking meter revenue and regular maintenance and troubleshooting of all parking equipment, including, but not limited to, parking meters, pay stations, gate system equipment, back office systems, etc. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, mowing, line striping, and other basic janitorial and landscaping activities. During wintertime operations, this individual will perform snow/ice removal, plowing, and treatment for downtown locations such as sidewalks, crosswalks, parking garages/lots and other assigned areas. This individual will work closely with the Parking Maintenance Foreman and Parking Manager with the scheduling, troubleshooting, and resolution of regular general and preventative maintenance related activities. Recommends and implements physical and operational improvements in the Parking Department. Maintains related records, corresponds via email, develops checklists and written procedures, etc. Assists management and performs other duties as assigned. This is a full-time position, with a varying work schedule, is part of the UAW Clerical & Technical Unit, and provides an excellent work life balance. The position is grade 8, with an hourly wage not to exceed $21.15 SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of one year of relevant work experience; Must have a valid driver's license Must be proficient in the use of personal computers, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. Must have ability to attain knowledge of technical parking dimensions, requirements, etc., as well as a working knowledge of the Nashua Revised Ordinances (NROs) within one year after acceptance of this position. Must be available during all wintertime operations, have the ability to physically perform duties as described in all weather conditions; proficient in use of equipment such as motor vehicles, meter revenue collection devices, miscellaneous parking maintenance equipment, assorted hand tools/paint brushes, and snow and ice removal equipment. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; combination of equivalent education and experience will be considered.
