Description of responsibilities:
Investigates criminal activity in Graham County, specifically focusing on follow-up investigations initiated after review of an original investigation report that has been submitted to the County Attorney's Office.
Coordinates investigations with local law enforcement officials.
Assists the drug task force in investigating drug crimes.
Serves subpoenas.
Assists with locating and interviewing witnesses.
Assists the County Attorney and Deputy Attorneys in preparing for trial.
Testifies in court.
Administers the Diversion Program, interviews candidates and outlines details of the diversion contract.
Meets with individuals assigned to the diversion program and obtains taped statements with regard to the crime(s) that were committed.
Collects urine samples.
Completes monthly and quarterly reports with regard to program services.
Is responsible for grant writing, reporting and follow up for all grants related to the diversion program.
Implements a treatment plan for defendants that assists with their rehabilitation.
Coordinates treatment and counseling services for defendants.
Assigns appropriate community service hours.
Assures that defendants pay restitution to victims.
Collects monthly diversion payments from defendants.
Holds defendants accountable for fulfilling the diversion requirements.
Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or G.E.D., possession of the Arizona Police Officer Standards Training (POST) Certification and no fewer than ten years' experience as an investigator with a Police Agency or an equivalent position. Possession of a valid Arizona driver's license, with a history of safe driving and the ability to maintain a safe driving record; ability to meet the physical requirements of the position. Willingness to reside in Graham County upon appointment. Preference will be given to applicant with prior investigative experience and bilingual in English and Spanish.
