Norton Correctional Facility is a prison comprised of minimum, low, and medium incarcerated residents. Norton Correctional Facility is split into two different physical locations, Norton, KS housing Central Unit and Stockton, KS housing East Unit. $31.53+ hourly / $65,582.40+ annually Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications. Employment Benefits Comprehensive medical, mental, dental, vision, and additional coverage Sick & Vacation leave Work-Life Balance programs: parental leave, military leave, jury leave, funeral leave Paid State Holidays (designated by the Governor annually) Fitness Centers in select locations Employee discounts with the STAR Program Retirement and deferred compensation programs Visit the Employee Benefits page for more information… Position Summary & Responsibilities Maintain a list of upcoming scheduled releases; review the release on a regular basis; identify high risk residents and make recommendations about strategies to address the risk/need of these residents; establish a method for tracking releases; and communicate with unit team to ensure that release and reentry plans are prepared for residents scheduled for release. This includes providing technical assistance to counselors in support of developing the plans; following up on plans; tracking plans; communicating with parole about plans; and helping to develop resources needed to develop the plans. Maintain open communication and contact with unit team to remain informed on the progress of release plans being developed. Serve as a liaison between the Kansas Parole Board and unit team and parole staff related to release plans. Convene multi-discipline teams as appropriate to support release plans. Coordinate release and reentry planning with various specialized programs and positions (e.g., reentry, discharge planner, victim services, interstate compact, etc.) and assist unit team and residents in applying for services through those programs and services. Review release and reentry plans and information for accuracy, timeliness and compliance with department policies and applicable principles of risk, needs and responsivity. Support the development of release plans by working with residents on plans. This includes conducting reentry interviews, particularly on high risk residents; working with residents who are preparing to see the parole board to ensure they have a release plan in place; following up on resource issues with community providers and parole; addressing special needs of residents, such as mental health treatment needs, medication, housing, financial, identification, and so forth.
Minimum Qualifications:
Four years direct experience in criminal justice, the social sciences, or the behavioral sciences, and one year of experience working with offenders in corrections, parole or law enforcement.

Must have a Valid High School Diploma or Equivalent. Must have a Valid Driver's License. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position. Must take and pass drug screen, background check, and Tuberculosis (TB) test. Must be a current United States Citizen.
