Holiday Schedule:

Observes Mississippi state holidays What You'll Do Review and process youth court referral submissions. Conduct preliminary screenings and inquiries. Gather and evaluate information regarding youth and family circumstances. Assist in determining appropriate court intake actions. Communicate effectively with attorneys, law enforcement, court personnel, and families. Document contacts, activities, findings, and decisions accurately. Manage data entry and generate reports. Maintain confidential and detailed records compliant with court policies. Collaborate with youth court partners to support fair and timely proceedings. Participate in training, professional development, and quality reviews.

What You Need Required:

Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Counseling, Family Studies, or closely related field Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance Ability to travel between assigned court locations Strong communication, organizational, and record-keeping skills Sound judgment, professionalism, and integrity in handling sensitive information

Preferred:

Experience in social services, behavioral health, or criminal justice settings Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple responsibilities Proven ability to establish professional relationships with court and community partners About the Assignment This onsite role supports Mississippi's Youth Court reform efforts, helping to streamline intake processes across multiple counties. Intake Officers will serve as the first point of review for youth referrals, conducting screenings, collecting data, and coordinating with court professionals. The position plays a vital part in creating a consistent, efficient juvenile justice system focused on protecting youth and strengthening community supports.
