Construction Safety Manager

Job Description

The Greenridge Group is a prime contractor and consulting firm specializing in Project and Construction Management for major public-sector agencies. We are seeking experienced Safety Managers to support construction projects throughout the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD).

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct daily construction site safety inspections and document observations. Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, project safety requirements, and established safety procedures. Review contractor safety documentation, including JHAs, MOPs, Fall Protection Plans, Crane Lift Plans, Excavation Plans, Scaffold Erection Plans, and Confined Space Entry procedures. Participate in construction meetings and lead safety discussions regarding site observations and upcoming work activities. Prepare daily safety reports and weekly Health, Safety & Environmental Observation Reports. Review incident reports, participate in safety stand-downs, and assist with lessons-learned reporting. Monitor compliance with Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) requirements. Support the Program Safety Manager with safety reporting, analysis, meetings, and other program needs. Work collaboratively with project management, contractor management, and field construction teams across multiple project sites.

Requirements Candidates must have:

7+ years of U.S. commercial construction experience with a General Contractor 5+ years of California construction experience with a contractor or major subcontractor 2+ years of construction experience on educational projects in a campus environment Experience managing or overseeing field construction teams across multiple projects Experience with demolition, renovation, and new construction projects Experience working with OCIP programs Experience with safety incident reporting and daily construction reporting Experience with modernization/renovation projects involving hazardous-material abatement or remediation, including asbestos and lead-based paint Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to travel between multiple project sites throughout the greater Los Angeles area Required Certifications Candidates must hold a current and active : SMS (Safety Management Specialist), CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician), OR CSMC (Certified Safety Manager Construction) First Aid/CPR/AED Certification Copies of current certifications will be required as part of the submission process. Preferred Qualifications Degree in Construction Management, Safety Management, Safety Engineering, or a related field 40-Hour
