Position Overview:
\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nJohnsonville has an opportunity for a Food Safety/Quality Coordinator to join our Holton FSQ Team. Responsibilities:
\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tFoster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement, striving for zero IFR year after year \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tPromote Johnsonville Culture and work with members to drive strategic continuous improvement efforts tied to food safety and quality risks or incidents in the animal harvest and fresh sausage processes \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tLead the plant food safety and quality system through administration of the written food safety and quality programs, procedures and policies. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tCollaborate with teams to achieve continuous improvement within the food safety and quality performance with key performance metrics, identify trends and process variation and driving corrective actions. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tLead and administer the facility's Animal Welfare System and Programs. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tEnsure regulatory compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including USDA- FSIS, Federal and State requirements. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tLead cross-functional teams to excel at all site internal, customer, regulatory, and SQF audits, ensuring effective preparation, execution, and follow-up. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tDemonstrate the ability to apply technical acumen applied to meat food safety and quality systems. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tUse your technical expertise to train members on food safety principles, quality systems, and regulatory requirements. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tActively participate in network wide project work as applied to food safety, quality, animal welfare and process related improvements. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tDirectly coach and develop Food Safety and Quality team members. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tLead and manage the performance of third-party contractors, such as pest control and sanitation providers \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tLead FSQ capital pipeline planning and budget development efforts to align facility investments with network food safety and quality strategies. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Education:
\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBachelor's degree in food science, Meat Science, Microbiology or related field preferred \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Experience:
\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\t5 years of experience in a food safety and quality leadership role required \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tExperience in food required; meat/poultry processing and harvest preferred \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Skills and Competencies:
\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tDemonstrated leadership and the ability to grow direct and indirect members required \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tKnowledge and understanding of food safety, HACCP systems, USDA/FDA, Animal Handling and Welfare programs and regulatory requirements and have established regulatory relationships. Emphasis on prior
USDA- FSIS
facility experience. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tProficiency in Microsoft Suite required \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tPossesses a Certification of Global Food Safety Initiative Standards [Safe Quality Food program preferred] \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tExperience analyzing fresh product shelf life and microbiology preferred \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tKnowledge of continuous improvement processes (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, etc.) \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tExperience with digital document systems SAP Business Operating System and Redzone preferred \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tStrong analytical and problem-solving skills \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
