Full Job Description Description:

J. F. Fischer, Inc., a general / mechanical contractor doing business in Baltimore and surrounding area since 1973, is seeking a safety professional to join our team. As the Safety Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a variety of health, safety, and environmental programs to assure the highest degree of safety for our employees, customers, subcontractors and the public. Responsibilities including but are not limited to:

• Conducts documented jobsite inspections to identify and eliminate hazards and ensure compliance with company and customer policies and procedures.
• Conducts semi-annual inspections of safety equipment (e.g. fall protection, ladders, etc.)
• Leads and participates in safety activities, meetings, inspections and audits.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, rules, and codes.
• Conducts safety and health training as required, including providing weekly toolbox talks.
• Conducts new employee safety orientation and follow-up safety monitoring.
• Ensures employees have adequate supplies of safety equipment and required PPE.
• Conducts incident investigations and manages

OSHA/MOSH

recordkeeping & reporting.

• Manages substance abuse policy, both DOT and non-DOT regulated.
• Conducts trend analyses of incidents and inspections to reduce risk of injuries.
• Conducts annual review and update to health & safety program.
• Maintains OSHA record keeping.
• Performs other duties as required by management.

Required Education and Experience:

• OSHA 30-hour Construction training required
• OSHA Authorized Construction Trainer Certification preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of overall safety management experience
• Proficient in MS-Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Proficient knowledge of Federal and state health & safety regulations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
