The successful candidate must understand the personality traits of the workforce, be able to communicate clearly with them and understand the challenging nature of the work they are undertaking. This position will work with a team of professionals to control and maintain the Company's Insurance Policies, maintain & reduce the Company
EMR/DART
ratings, and create & enforce Company Safety Policies.

Primary Functions & Duties:
Ensure company insurance programs are current as well as coordinate and lead the annual renewal process for all commercial lines of insurance.
Produce job specific Certificates of Insurance for each customer and each project and develop program to keep them current until project completion.
Review bid opportunities for risks and data to be submitted.
Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of all related OSHA, MIOSHA and all other regulations and compliance requirements for these regulations
Ability to train, influence and motivate team members. Organize and conduct various safety training programs including new hire, confined space, lead/asbestos/silica, mobile elevated work platforms, and other awareness level courses.
Maintain system to acquire subcontractor Certificates of Insurance for each project and keep them current until project completion.
Handle insurance claims and workers compensation claims if they arise. Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and properly document each occurrence.
Continue ongoing development of Company Safety Policies and enforce current policies with all employees, with Zero (0) injuries as our goal.
Prepare and distribute jobsite safety manuals, postings, MSDS sheets and safety-related pre-qualification documents.
Develop and manage Safety Rewards program for outstanding safety performances.
Ensure employees are trained to meet all requirements set forth by Shaw safety policies and job specific safety policies. Ensure employees training record databases, certificates of completion, licensing and skills testing are properly managed and stored.
Conduct jobsite safety inspections and document with written reports to foreman, project manager, supervisor and customer / Owner.
Maintain proactive monitoring methods for regulatory compliance.
Maintain Field visibility with jobsite visits, on and off site training, attendance at customer meetings (all of which may occur daily). Field visibility may require being stationed on-site and operating out of temporary construction jobsite offices.
Assist administrative staff with and ensure compliance with various reporting requirements such as MIOSHA, MUST, etc.
Procure and ensure safety equipment is properly calibrated, functional and meets OSHA standards.
Ensure Vehicle Fleet drivers maintain safe driving records and manage fleet operations.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:
OSHA 10 and 30 Certified.
OSHA 500/510
Certified.
Current with 18 MUST Safety Modules.
Bachelor's degree in safety and health, construction, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience with a strong background in electrical safety.
Understanding of Insurance coverages, liability and claims process.
Knowledge of electrical materials and installation practices preferred.
Be proficient in MS Office products and presentation media.
Must be a self-starter, accurate and possess good communication skills.
Must be flexible and able to multitask.
Must be a team player and serve all internal & external contacts on demand.
Candidate should be a certified CPR/First Aid instructor, or have the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire date.
CPR/First Aid courses must be offered on a quarterly basis for employees.
Beneficial Qualifications:
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or ability to obtain this certification within one year of hire
Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP), or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS)
