Job Description

Safety Manager About Us TRAC Materials is a leading provider of construction materials, operating two ready-mix concrete plants, an asphalt plant, and three quarries. We also manage our own parts warehouse and maintenance shop. Additionally, we own and operate Southwest Materials (SWM), a ready-mix concrete plant located in Ozark. Position Overview We are seeking a proactive and motivated individual to lead our Safety Division. The Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety regulations across TRAC and SWM divisions. While a background in safety, management, or construction is preferred, we are open to training the right candidate. Key Responsibilities 1.
Safety and Compliance:
Learn and understand all relevant regulations pertaining to TRAC and SWM. Maintain and research all necessary documents and permits to ensure continuous compliance. Some of the agencies we must comply with include OSHA, MSHA, DOT, ATF, Missouri DNR, EPA, and the State of Missouri Fire Marshal. 2. Safety Meetings and Training Conduct weekly and monthly safety meetings. Design and implement safety training programs tailored to each division. Maintain records of safety meetings and training. 3. New Employee Training Provide comprehensive safety training to newly hired employees. 4. Miner Training Schedule and conduct required new miner training sessions. Deliver annual miner refresher training courses. 5. Safety Inspections Perform regular worksite safety inspections. Identify and document safety violations. Collaborate with division managers to implement corrective actions. 6. Policy Education and Enforcement Educate employees on company policies and ensure consistent enforcement. 7. Accident Investigations Investigate and document all incidents involving personnel or equipment. 8. Workers' Comp Claims File workman's comp claims and manage associated paperwork. Accompany employees to medical appointments related to on-the-job injuries. 9. Safety Purchases and PPE Use Oversee safety equipment purchases and ensure proper PPE usage. 10. Proactive Measures Focus on accident prevention and optimizing production efficiency. 11. Other Duties Conduct surveys and ensure governmental compliance, including permitting and testing. Administer post-accident and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing. Perform any other duties assigned by the General Manager. Qualifications Proven experience in safety management, construction, or related field (preferred). Strong understanding of relevant safety regulations and protocols. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
