Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Fleet Safety Manager to lead our organization's fleet safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and promoting a culture of safety across our transportation operations. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and oversee safety policies and procedures that safeguard our drivers, cargo, and the public. Your expertise will help us maintain operational excellence while minimizing risk and ensuring adherence to international trade regulations, OSHA standards, transportation safety laws, and insurance guidelines. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence safety practices on a large scale within a fast-paced logistics environment. Duties Develop, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive fleet safety programs aligned with OSHA, transportation safety regulations, and industry best practices. Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations including FDA regulations for regulated products, customs brokerage management, and trade compliance standards. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments across the fleet to identify hazards and implement corrective actions proactively. Oversee regulatory reporting related to fleet operations, accident investigations, and safety performance metrics. Manage training programs for drivers and logistics staff on safety protocols, regulatory compliance management, and proper handling of freight in accordance with customs regulations. Collaborate with logistics teams to optimize supply chain efficiency while maintaining strict adherence to transportation management policies. Qualifications Proven experience in fleet management or transportation safety roles with a strong understanding of OSHA standards and transportation safety regulations. Knowledge of logistics, supply chain operations, freight handling, and management software systems. Strong technical proficiency in Excel data analysis, report writing, regulatory compliance management tools, and risk assessment techniques. Experience managing compliance related to FDA regulations for regulated products is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to train staff on complex safety procedures and regulatory requirements. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. CDL-A is a plus, but not a requirement.
