Position Summary:
The EHS Manager is responsible for leading and managing all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance programs across aggregate quarry, asphalt, ready-mix concrete, and related construction materials operations. This role partners with operational leadership to cultivate a proactive safety culture, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives and protect employes contractors, customers, and the environment. Also, serves as a subject matter expert on OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA, and related regulatory requirements while providing leadership, coaching, training, and support to multiple facilities and operational teams.
Job Duties:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Lead and administer health, safety, and environmental programs across aggregate, asphalt, and concrete operations. Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state and local regulations. Conduct site inspections, safety audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses. Develop and deliver employee safety training and compliance programs. Monitor environmental permits, reporting requirements, and regulatory documentation. Partner with operations leadership to identify risks, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement. Track and communicate EHS performance metrics and lead safety culture initiatives.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience considered. 5+ years of EHS experience in aggregates, mining, asphalt, concrete, manufacturing, construction, or other heavy industrial environments. Strong knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. Experience managing multi-site safety and compliance programs preferred. Proven ability to conduct investigations, deliver training, and influence safety performance. Certifications such as
CSP, ASP, CIH, OSHA
30, or MSHA needed/preferred. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
