Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Range Safety Officer/Clay Staff, where your expertise in safety protocols and environmental compliance will ensure the secure and responsible operation of outdoor shooting ranges. This role is vital in maintaining a safe environment for all participants, staff, and visitors while adhering to strict federal, state, and local regulations. As a Range Safety Officer/Clay Staff, you will oversee firearm handling safety, enforce safety procedures, and support environmental stewardship initiatives. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help foster a secure, compliant, and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Responsibilities Monitor firearm handling activities to ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Conduct safety briefings for participants before shooting sessions, emphasizing range rules and emergency procedures. Document incidents, safety violations, and compliance activities thoroughly through clear writing skills and detailed reports. Promote a culture of safety by conducting regular inspections of firearms handling areas, ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and overseeing outdoor work activities related to stormwater management or other environmental concerns. Maintain Shooting Range/Clay Field equipment( Load Clay machines, relocate machines as needed, man pulling stations for customers who shoot Clay Games like Trap, Skeet, or Sporting Clays Qualifications Proven experience in outdoor work environments with a strong understanding of firearm handling safety protocols. Certifications in first aid, CPR, and vital signs assessment are highly desirable; ability to respond effectively in emergency situations is essential. Excellent communication skills for customer service interactions, safety briefings, and detailed reporting. Must be able to lift 50lbs.
