Full Job Description Job Overview:
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, implement, and maintain workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and programs. Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations. Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and at-risk assessments at facilities and job sites. Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses; determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Lead and deliver safety training programs for employees, supervisors, and management. Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and compliance documentation. Coordinate and manage emergency preparedness programs, including fire protection, evacuation planning, and drills. Collaborate with internal and external teams to identify hazards and implement effective controls. Monitor safety performance metrics and develop continuous improvement initiatives. Manage and oversee PPE programs, ensuring proper selection, use, and compliance. Lead safety committees/councils to promote engagement and continuous improvement. Promote and maintain a positive, proactive safety culture across all levels of the region. Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from executive leadership to hourly employees. Provide leadership, coaching, and development for HSE Specialists. Partner with HSE Director and HSE leadership to align site programs with company initiatives. Perform additional duties assigned by HSE leadership.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in a safety-related role. Completion of
OSHA 511
preferred. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred. Experience in utilities, data center, or industrial environments strongly preferred. Knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards (29 CFR 1910). Professional certifications (e.g., ASP, CSP, OHST) preferred but not required.
