Senior HSE Manager - North America (Manufacturing)

$135,000 + bonus and benefits About the Opportunity We are partnering with a well-established North American manufacturing organisation that is undergoing a significant period of growth, modernisation, and operational transformation. The company has a strong history of delivering high-quality products to customers across North America and is recognised for its commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and employee development. They are seeking an experienced Senior HSE Manager to lead health, safety, and environmental strategy across their North American operations. This is a key leadership role for someone who can drive meaningful change, build strong safety cultures, and partner with operational leaders across multiple manufacturing locations. This is not a compliance-only position — the successful candidate will be a hands-on change leader who can develop programs, influence teams, and deliver measurable improvements in safety performance. The Role Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Senior HSE Manager will provide strategic leadership across North America, managing regional HSE teams and partnering with plant leadership to strengthen safety performance. You will be responsible for developing and implementing HSE programs, improving safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading continuous improvement initiatives across multiple manufacturing facilities. Key Responsibilities Lead HSE strategy across multiple manufacturing locations throughout North America Manage and support regional HSE leaders across different territories Develop, implement, and improve company-wide safety programs and processes Drive cultural change by engaging employees and operational leaders at all levels Build and maintain safety systems, including behavioural safety programs, job hazard assessments, and risk management processes Monitor safety performance metrics and implement improvement plans Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action programs Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, CSA, environmental, and safety regulations Partner with plant managers, engineering teams, and operational leadership to reduce risk and improve performance Represent the organisation with regulatory agencies, insurers, and external stakeholders Coach and mentor HSE professionals across the business About You The ideal candidate will have: 7+ years of progressive HSE/EHS leadership experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment Experience leading safety programs across multiple sites Proven experience building or significantly improving corporate HSE systems A track record of delivering measurable improvements in safety performance Strong change management and influencing skills Experience developing safety cultures within operational environments Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and ideally Canadian safety legislation (CSA/provincial regulations) Experience with incident investigation, root cause analysis, audits, and risk assessments Ability to work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams on technical safety matters Preferred Backgrounds Candidates with experience in environments such as: Manufacturing Packaging Paper & Forest Products Chemicals Mining & Minerals Industrial Production Building Materials Food & Beverage Manufacturing will be highly relevant.
