Build Your Career with Liesfeld Contractor We are seeking an experienced Safety Officer to support safe, compliant, and productive operations across our active construction sites. This role serves as a visible field safety presence, working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and crews to identify hazards, reinforce safe work practices, conduct training and inspections, investigate incidents, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards. The ideal candidate will be a proactive safety professional who can effectively communicate, coach, and influence employees while identifying and addressing potential risks before they result in incidents. Monday-Saturday Monday-Friday:
6:00 AM-5:30 PM |
Saturday:
6:00 AM-3:30 PM | Average 58+ hours per week •schedule may vary based on operational needs, emergency repairs, and field demands• Key Responsibilities Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections, audits, and observations; document findings and corrective actions Identify and address unsafe conditions and behaviors and follow up to ensure corrective actions are completed Coach field personnel and reinforce safe work practices, company policies, and OSHA requirements Conduct new-hire and subcontractor safety orientations and assist with ongoing safety training Monitor safety-critical work and verify required permits, procedures, PPE, and controls are in place Investigate incidents and near misses; document findings and assist with corrective actions Partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and crews to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal safety requirements Promote a proactive safety culture, accountability, and continuous improvement across all projects Maintain accurate safety documentation, inspection records, training records, and reports Travel between active jobsites throughout the Greater Richmond area as needed Required Qualifications High school diploma or
GED OSHA
510 and/or
OSHA 500
