Automation Personnel Services is seeking an experienced Sanitation Manager for a food manufacturing company located in Moody, Alabama . This facility specializes in the production and packaging of spices and seasoning blends. The Sanitation Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all sanitation operations within the facility. This position ensures compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and company policies while maintaining a clean, safe, and audit-ready environment. Pay Rate $25.00 per hour Schedule and Hours Monday through Friday 7:15am -3:35pm Additional hours as needed to support production schedules and sanitation activities. Sanitation Manager - Duties and Responsibilities Manage and supervise the daily activities of the sanitation team. Develop, implement, and maintain sanitation programs, procedures, and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs). Ensure all production equipment, processing areas, warehouses, offices, and common areas are cleaned and sanitized according to company standards. Schedule and oversee daily, weekly, monthly, and annual sanitation activities. Monitor sanitation effectiveness through inspections, audits, and environmental monitoring programs. Maintain Master Cleaning Schedules and ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time. Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, GMPs, HACCP plans, food safety standards, and customer requirements. Train, coach, and develop sanitation team members on proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling, and food safety practices. Manage sanitation chemical inventory and vendor relationships. Coordinate sanitation activities with Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Operations teams. Investigate sanitation-related issues and implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate sanitation records, documentation, and audit readiness. Participate in internal, customer, and regulatory audits. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve sanitation effectiveness and operational efficiency. Promote a strong food safety culture throughout the facility. Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to all safety regulations. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Sanitation Manager - Qualifications and Requirements High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment. Previous supervisory or management experience required. Strong knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SSOPs, and food safety programs. Experience preparing for and participating in food safety audits. Knowledge of sanitation chemicals, cleaning procedures, and environmental monitoring. Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and sanitation documentation systems. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift. Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds. Ability to work around sanitation chemicals, cleaning equipment, and manufacturing machinery. Ability to work in varying temperatures and production environments. Work Environment Food manufacturing facility. Exposure to sanitation chemicals, spices, varying temperatures, and production equipment. Requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
