Director of Operations Expected Pay Range:
$20-$25 per hour, based on experience level and performance Position Summary The Safety Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and administering Eagan Manufacturing's safety programs, policies, training, and compliance activities. This position works closely with all departments to reduce workplace injuries, ensure regulatory compliance, conduct investigations, lead safety training, and promote a culture where safety is a core value. The Safety Coordinator is a visible presence on the production floor and is expected to actively engage employees and supervisors to identify hazards, correct unsafe conditions, and continuously improve workplace safety performance. Essential ResponsibilitiesSafety Program Administration Maintain and administer all company safety programs and policies. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Conduct regular plant safety inspections and audits. Track and report key safety metrics including: Recordable incidents Near misses First aid cases Lost-time incidents Safety training completion Maintain all required safety documentation and records. Employee Training Conduct new employee safety orientation. Coordinate annual safety training and required refresher training. Deliver toolbox talks and departmental safety meetings. Maintain training records and certifications. Develop training materials and visual communication tools. Incident Investigation Investigate workplace injuries, accidents, near misses, and property damage incidents. Determine root causes and corrective actions. Work with supervisors to implement corrective actions. Track completion of corrective actions and verify effectiveness. Complete required documentation and reporting in a timely manner. Plant Safety Inspections Perform routine walkthroughs of manufacturing, warehouse, and office areas. Identify unsafe acts and conditions. Recommend corrective measures. Follow up to ensure timely resolution of safety concerns. Support 5S and housekeeping initiatives. Regulatory Compliance Maintain OSHA logs and injury records. Assist during regulatory inspections and audits. Manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Hazard Communication programs. Ensure required postings and safety documentation are current. Monitor compliance with Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, PPE, Forklift, Hearing Conservation, and other applicable programs. Workers' Compensation Administration Coordinate injury reporting procedures. Assist with workers' compensation claims administration. Communicate with medical providers and insurance representatives. Track restricted duty assignments and return-to-work programs. Help reduce claim frequency and costs through proactive safety efforts. Safety Committee Leadership Coordinate monthly safety committee meetings. Prepare meeting agendas and documentation. Track safety improvement initiatives. Encourage employee participation in safety programs and reporting. Emergency Preparedness Coordinate fire, tornado, and emergency response procedures. Ensure emergency equipment inspections are completed. Maintain evacuation maps and emergency response documentation. Participate in emergency response planning and drills. Additional Responsibilities Assist with environmental compliance activities as assigned. Support employee wellness and safety awareness initiatives. Participate in continuous improvement projects. Assist with facility safety improvements and capital projects. Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsRequired High school diploma or GED. Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing, safety, HR, operations, or a related field. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to conduct training and speak confidently to groups. Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Human Resources, Manufacturing, or related field. OSHA 30 certification. First Aid/CPR certification. Experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of workers' compensation administration. Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis. Physical Requirements Ability to walk production areas throughout the workday. Ability to stand, bend, reach, and climb stairs. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment including exposure to noise, dust, heat, and moving equipment. Expected Schedule:
Monday-Friday, with occasional flexibility required to support training, investigations, audits, or production needs. This position plays a critical role in ensuring every employee goes home safe every day while supporting Eagan Manufacturing's commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
