Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Transportation Driver to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services for our community to doctor appointments, shopping trips and to planned group activity locations for our residents. . As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for transporting passengers—including seniors while adhering to all safety regulations and providing excellent customer service. Your role will involve operating a vehicle such as bus with a wheelchair lift, ensuring passenger safety, and responding swiftly to traffic changes or emergencies. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact by facilitating safe transit experiences every day. Duties Safely operate buses, vans, and specialized transportation vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and safety regulations. Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, including wheelchair assistance and behavior management as needed. Ensure passenger safety by following emergency response procedures, vehicle codes. Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and emergency equipment. Provide excellent customer service by addressing passenger questions, ensuring comfort, and maintaining a friendly demeanor. Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage; report any incidents or safety concerns immediately. Ability to work independently. Qualifications Must have graduated from high school or the equivalent Proven experience in bus driving, school bus operation, or transit vehicle operation is highly preferred. Valid Commercial Class B driver's license with a clean driving record; and be enrolled in the DMV Pull Notice Program and maintain a DOT Medical Certification Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations at the state and local levels. First aid certification and CPR training are required to respond effectively in emergencies. Must complete a Criminal Record Clearance and a Health Screening Report. Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities such as bilingualism are a plus for serving diverse communities. Experience working with seniors is desirable Ability to respond quickly to traffic changes or emergencies while maintaining composure under pressure. Knowledge of emergency stop procedures, defensive driving techniques, and transit safety protocols. Excellent written skills for completing reports accurately; ability to follow detailed instructions consistently.
