Such as, but not limited to hazard reporting processes, accident investigation procedures and basic safety rules. This person works alongside the Safety Supervisor in establishing and coordinating safety committee and conducts regular safety meetings. The safety coordinator is responsible for monitoring working conditions to ensure all activity is compliant with state and federal safety regulations. Will ensure workspaces and plant equipment are up to safety standard and provides workplace safety training. Principle Responsibilities Conducts investigations to determine the cause accidents and report their findings to avoid future incidences. Provides safety training on topics including fire prevention plans, fire protection and hazardous materials communication, lockout/tagout and document that each employee has completed the requirements. Conducts safety inspections to identify workplace hazards via periodic safety and health walk-through inspections of all workplace facilities. Ensures that first-aid kits are well-stocked and fire extinguishers are easily accessible to employees. Serves as the company liaison to a retain physician schedules, physical examinations, and develops medical reports. Orders safety gear and supplies for workplace (PPE). Assists in writing and revising company safety handbook (IIPP). Maintains worker's compensation files, reports, invoices. Completes and maintains
OSHA 300
log of work-related occupational injuries and illnesses and post the annual summary from February 1st through April 30th at each work location. Completes and stores properly safety-related, records, reports, and other documents/files. Ensures that safety-related records, reports, and other documents/files. Conducts accident/injury investigations and illness exposure monitoring. Assists in monitoring a program for reporting and investigating "near-miss" situations. Conducts investigations into employee inquiries, suggestions, and complaints. Maintains, tracks, and assists with Forklift Operator certifications. Maintains company vehicle check-out, ensuring drivers are insured and appropriately licensed. Establishes and monitors employer pull notice (EPN) program. Ensures periodic inspections of all motorized vehicles. Performs all work safely in a fast-paced work environment. Qualifications Associates Degree in related field preferred. 3+ years of experience in safety practices. English and Spanish speaking is preferred, Korean is a plus. Demonstrates broad knowledge of state and federal safety guidelines for the workplace. Able to read and interpret dense legal and federal OSHA documents. Must be able to demonstrate familiarity with job site machinery and products. Experience with a manufacturing or processing company is preferred. Close attention to detail is essential. Good organizational skills and strong interpersonal skills. Must be proficient, quick, and comfortable with personal computer navigation and operation. Physical Requirements Work is considered low physical work in an office and production setting, requiring the exertion up to 25 pounds of force. Must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform low physical work indoors with minimum exposure to dust.
Must be able to:
Walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time. Demonstrate the ability to hear and have specific vision abilities to adjust focus, in an environment subject to noise, dust, etc. The office is adjunct to the plant with constant manufacturing noise and will be in contact with other staffs.
Starting Wage:
