Human Resources Director Position Purpose:
LeFiell Manufacturing Company, is an Employee Owned (ESOP) Company and an innovative global leader providing highly engineered precision metallic tubular parts and assemblies for the commercial aircraft, defense, and space segments of the aerospace industry. The Company is seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to join its team. As a Safety Coordinator at LeFiell Mfg, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety within our organization. This position is essential to our commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for all employees. Essential Duties (Safety) o Leads and drives the safety committee and all activities associated with, schedules and drives the monthly and quarterly safety meetings o Monitors potential health and safety conditions of the workplace; identifies problems, recommends solutions, and ensures that the on-going safety system is corrected to incorporate the changes, in concurrence with the safety committee. o Develop & maintain records for safety programs (i.e. training logs, reports, inspections) o Facilitate investigations of near-misses, accidents, and injury/illness root-cause o Updates and maintains OSHA logs o Conducts annual Safety and Environmental training as required by federal, state, & local regulations. o Enforces and maintains safety and health programs, plans and policies. These may include IIPP and EHS programs like hazard communication (SDS), exposure control, PPE, respiratory protection program, chemical hygiene, Lockout / Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, emergency action plan etc. o Support management in the implementation of safety plans o Order and sustains all safety supplies o Other duties as determined by the Manager Essential Duties (Environmental): o Responsible for maintaining and completing all mandatory federal, state and city required reports, forms concerning EHS o Manages wastewater and air emissions o Conduct EH&S audits to eliminate or control hazardous conditions and to take required samples and measurements o Perform periodic inspections of hazardous waste storage areas to ensure compliance and disposal o Manage, maintain and improve EHS Management Systems documentation, communications and record retention
Background and Experience:
The ideal candidate will possess the following: Experience, knowledge and skills: An experienced professional with 5 plus years of experience within the Health and Safety field in a manufacturing industry setting.
Education:
BA/BS Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field desired and/or years of industry experience can substitute for education. Or at the discretion of the hiring manager
Desired Certifications:
OSHA Certification, HAZWOPER Incident Commander, Train the
o Sit at a computer, keying alpha and numeric data for 25% of the day o Lifts up to 50-lbs unassisted and push light, bulky items on rolling cart o The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear o Bend, stoop, kneel, squat up to 25 % of work day o Push, pull, stretch, twist, carry up to 25 % of work shift o Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception and use of safety glasses o Employee is required to be alert to detail and use caution around moving material o Employee may occasionally be required to sit, balance, stoop and/or crawl o Must be able to climb ladders occasionally or frequently depending on tasks o Noise level is frequently high, occasionally quiet o While performing the duties of the job, employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, airborne particles, heat and fumes
General Requirements:
o Comfortable with frequent interactions on the shop floor & being hand's on (up to 50% of workday or more) o ITAR verifiable o Able to successfully complete and clear a drug/alcohol test, background check and preplacement physical.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday 7:30 am•4:00 pm Most be flexible to work overtime when required.
Hourly Pay Range:
$25.00•$30.00 per hour. Candidates must possess most of the experience outlined to be considered at the higher end of the pay range.
