This is a seasonal position located on-site at our Stockton Facility. The Seasonal Sanitation Lead oversees the seasonal sanitation team and ensures safe, effective, and timely sanitation across processing areas. This role works closely with the Shift Supervisor, Milling Lead, and Milling Supervisor to meet sanitation schedules, production cleaning needs, food safety standards, and operational readiness throughout harvest. Corto Harvest is a 24/7 operation from mid-October
early December so the ability to work any shift, at least 6 days per week, is required and a willingness to work up to 12 hours if needed.
This position is primarily responsible for: Following work instructions, checklists, and reaction plans, and ensuring sanitation staff consistently follow these standards. Partnering with the Milling Supervisor to lead the sanitation team and provide hands-on support during sanitation activities. Using reports, sanitation checklists, visual controls, and KPI information to track progress, identify gaps, and support harvest decisions. Coordinating sanitation schedules and production cleaning needs with the Shift Supervisor and Milling Lead. Ensuring detailed cleaning of processing areas, equipment, parts, work areas, and facility grounds is completed to support safety, product quality, and equipment performance. Leading pre-harvest and post-harvest sanitation in the Receiving Area, Milling Area, Grading Station, Scales, Pomace Area, and other assigned areas. Supporting team members in following the Corto Fresh program, with emphasis on safety, food safety, and shift targets. Managing sanitation team break and lunch coverage to ensure breaks are taken within required timelines. Following all company safety policies, practices, and procedures; participating in safety training; and reporting unsafe conditions or work practices. Performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
1 year leadership experience. Excellent communicator amongst peers and with direct management. Strong organizational skills. Attention to detail. Ability to execute proper training protocols for cleanliness standards. Ability to be trained to operate a scissor lift and successfully pass both a written and driving test. Bilingual in Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications:
1-2 years in manufacturing or experience in a similar role. Previous sanitation, food manufacturing, or harvest operations experience. Ability to operate a forklift and successfully pass both a written and driving test.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and moderate fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires the following percentages of time committed to physical activity: 25% or less sitting, 50% or more walking, and 50% or more standing. The job is performed under frequent temperature variations and in a manufacturing environment. Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees. The ability to lift up to 45 lbs. is required.
