Putnam, CT - Fully Onsite Summary The Industrial Hygienist is responsible for managing and implementing Industrial Hygiene (IH) programs across U.S. operations. This role ensures compliance with occupational health regulations and industry best practices while supporting a safe work environment. This position also contributes to the ongoing development and improvement of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) management systems at a corporate level. Responsibilities Develop, implement, lead, and audit Industrial Hygiene programs and policies across U.S. locations Design sampling strategies and conduct workplace monitoring to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote employee safety Manage annual Industrial Hygiene surveys for all U.S. facilities, including equipment management, laboratory coordination, reporting, and employee communication Analyze and interpret sampling data and compare results to established exposure limits (e.g., PELs, ALs, STELs, TLVs) Identify potential exposure risks and recommend controls to reduce or eliminate hazards Evaluate new materials introduced into manufacturing environments and assess potential health risks, ensuring appropriate safety measures are implemented Maintain up-to-date knowledge of material hazards, regulatory changes, and industry best practices Provide training and mentorship on core Industrial Hygiene principles to EHS staff and employees Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health, Environmental Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience Certification as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred Minimum of 2 years of experience in Industrial Hygiene or a related field, preferably within a manufacturing environment Working knowledge of OSHA, NIOSH, ANSI, and ACGIH standards Understanding of industrial ventilation systems Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver training and support EHS program development
