Jerome, Idaho, United States Job Description Job Summary:
The Sanitation Operator will perform and oversee a variety of facility and equipment sanitizations. Work requires independent initiative, knowledge of good manufacturing practices, and experience in working with cleaning chemicals. They will establish proficiency in one of the four production departments with cleaning skills in accordance with daily MSS (Master Sanitation Schedule) and display proficiencies relating to Standard Operating Procedures in assigned department. They will ensure that safety, quality, production and cost KPI's are achieved.
Essential Functions:
The candidate for the position of Sanitation Operator must obtain the following attributes:
Follow all FDA health and OSHA safety regulations
Maintain good attendance to ensure high performance.
Have experience with a food processing sanitation program.
Understand the safety measures necessary for all equipment operation and cleaning.
Understand how to contact external support needed for all issues that arise.
Demonstrate the ability to work from verbal instructions and manuals for cleaning procedures.
Inspect and maintain overall cleanliness of the building.
Manage scheduled work list to maintain timely completion of all cleaning projects.
Plan, track, and monitor all master sanitation activities on a scheduled basis.
Maintain records of cleaning for all food contact equipment.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Manage cleaning tools and chemicals in the facility and ensure they are kept and returned to the right place.
Manage cleaning tools and chemicals in the facility and ensure all quantities are at an adequate level.
Understand the Food Safety Management Plan and ensure all quality measures are met and issues are eliminated.
Understand the contents of Dot's Safety Program and ensure all measures are met and any hazards are eliminated
Complete all training as assigned.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of food safety and food security guidelines including good manufacturing practices and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points
Knowledge of cleaning solutions
Thorough knowledge of the cleaning and sanitation methods and equipment used
Computer literate
Keep and maintain various records
Ability to diagnose problems, plan and organize appropriate corrective action
Ability to exercise independent initiative
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and other company employees
Ability to understand and follow MSDS sheets and chemical labels
Demonstrate a very high sense of urgency
Must have ability to understand oral and written instructions in English
Must have good job performance and attendance records
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & handle multiple tasks
Ability to lift 40 pounds repetitively.
Ability to bend, twist, and stand on your feet for an entire shift
Exposed to food production environment and warehouse environment which may involve noise and fluctuating temperatures.
Working Environment:
Physical demands: Team Members often spend long periods standing, lifting, bending, and reaching.
Temperature extremes: Depending on the specific task, employees may be exposed to high temperatures near cooking equipment or cold temperatures when handling refrigerated or frozen products.
Noise levels: May be exposed to large, open-floor areas with loud machinery, making ear protection a requirement.
Wet and slippery conditions: Processing potatoes involves liquids, making floors potentially wet and slippery, increasing the risk of slips, trips, and falls. Please reference Safety Show Standards.
Repetitive tasks: Many tasks involve repetitive motions, which can lead to repetitive strain injuries (RSIs) over time if proper ergonomic techniques are not utilized
Safety measures: Strict cleanliness and safety standards are adhered to, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) like hairnets, and gloves to prevent contamination and protect workers.
Shift work: Work is often performed in shifts, night shifts.
Teamwork and Communication:
