Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Driver for Adult Daycare to provide safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation services for our clients. In this vital role, you will ensure that participants arrive and depart on time while maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment for our clients, many of whom may require special assistance or accommodations. Responsibilities Safely operate passenger vehicles, including paratransit vans and shuttle buses, following all traffic laws and safety regulations. Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including wheelchair assistance and other mobility support as needed. Ensure the safety of all passengers by adhering to transportation safety regulations, emergency response procedures, and vehicle codes. Maintain clear communication with clients, staff, and emergency responders during transit to ensure smooth operations. Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to verify proper functioning, cleanliness, and safety equipment readiness. Respond quickly to traffic changes or road conditions to ensure timely arrivals and departures while prioritizing passenger safety. Complete all necessary documentation such as trip logs, incident reports, and vehicle maintenance records accurately and promptly. Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving, school bus driving, or transit bus operation is highly preferred. Proven experience working with children, seniors, or individuals with disabilities in a caregiving or transportation setting. Knowledge of traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, emergency stop procedures, and transportation safety regulations. Certification in first aid and CPR; familiarity with emergency response procedures for transportation is a plus. Ability to lift heavy objects safely when assisting passengers or handling equipment; physical stamina required for long shifts. Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are an advantage for serving diverse client populations. Understanding of child care practices, behavior management strategies, and student discipline policies if applicable. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor; ability to respond quickly to changing traffic conditions or client needs. Pay:
