  • No WeekendsRhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Medical Assistants for two full-time opportunities in Lanham, Maryland.
If you're looking for a Medical Assistant role w you'll use more than basic rooming skills, this opportunity offers a hands-on mix of patient care, occupational health testing, injury and wound care, medication administration, phlebotomy, vital signs, and clinical procedures—all on a predictable Monday-Friday schedule.

What You'll DoYou'll work directly with patients and clinicians in a fast-paced outpatient occupational health environment.

Responsibilities include:
  • Room patients and obtain vital signs
  • Assist clinicians with examinations and treatment
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and injections as ordered
  • Perform phlebotomy
  • Provide injury and wound-care support
  • bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered
  • Perform DOT and non-DOT drug screening
  • Perform breath alcohol testing
  • Conduct rapid point-of-care screening tests
  • Assist with pulmonary function testing, audiograms, and respirator fit testing
  • Prepare equipment and assist with in-office procedures
  • Triage emergent patients as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation
  • Support patient flow throughout the center
  • Stock and prepare exam rooms and maintain clinical equipmentThe role also includes some front-office responsibilities as needed, including patient check-in/check-out, registration, answering phones, communicating wait times, and handling appropriate paperwork.
Practice EnvironmentThis isn't a traditional primary-care Medical Assistant position.

You'll support a high-activity occupational health and urgent care practice, w the clinical team manages workplace injuries, employee health services, testing, physical examinations, and walk-in medical needs. The exact Lanham center publicly identifies both occupational health and urgent-care services, with physical therapy also operating onsite.

That makes this particularly attractive for an MA who wants exposure to hands-on procedures, workplace medicine, injury care, testing, and a broader clinical skill set.

QualificationsCandidates should have Medical Assistant education and/or relevant hands-on patient-care experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient environment.

Relevant backgrounds include:
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with externship
  • Direct patient-care experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Qualifying military medical specialist experience
  • Previous occupational medicine experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and common outpatient procedures
  • Strong patient-care and communication skills
