Summary :
This position is responsible for reviewing, updating and approving
FDA & USDA
labels. This person will develop mandatory label information to ensure compliance with federal regulations. This position also supports SK Foods.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop an understanding of FDA and USDA regulations and Buddy's Kitchen Policies. Handles multiple projects, work cross-functionally and execute with a high degree of thoroughness. Update nutritional database and corresponding ingredient specification information using Genesis. Assist in the development and verification of Nutrition Facts Panels using Genesis. Review supplier specifications and support setup, maintenance, and accuracy of ingredients within Genesis. Assess, document, and communicate ingredient and formulation changes to support regulatory evaluations and alternative ingredient reviews. Maintain regulatory and labeling documentation while supporting continuous improvement initiatives related to compliance, labeling processes, and quality systems. Develop knowledge of food labeling, nutrition, and ingredient regulations and contribute recommendations to support regulatory compliance and business objectives. Conduct label verification reviews to ensure regulatory accuracy and compliance prior to final approval. Support departmental projects and initiatives as assigned, with an emphasis on process optimization, compliance, and continuous improvement. Stay informed of regulatory developments and evolving best practices in compliance control and effectively communicate current US labeling and food product regulations to internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications :
Education and Experience Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Nutrition or related field required 2 years of food industry experience in labeling or regulatory affairs (preferred) Working knowledge of FDA and USDA food label regulations (preferred)

Required Training:
This position requires training in Good Manufacturing Practices critical to the effective implementation of the Food Safety Plan and the maintenance of food safety, quality, and process efficiency. Training is also required on how to identify food safety issues such as temperature control, cross-contamination, sanitation, and cleanliness of the lines, etc., critical to the effective implementation of the Food Safety Plan and the maintenance of food safety, quality, and process efficiency.
