Full-Time We are seeking an experienced forklift operator with industrial safety knowledge and strong professional background to support safety operations within a fast-paced manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on, floor-based safety position training new forklift operators. The ideal candidate has several years of recent forklift operating experience , experience operating multiple types of PIV's , and a strong understanding of safety within a high-traffic manufacturing or industrial environment . What You'll Do Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor, identifying hazards and reinforcing safe work practices. Conduct and support forklift/PIT safety training , evaluations, and safe operating procedures. Monitor forklift and pedestrian traffic in congested/high-traffic production and material handling areas. Conduct safety training including LOTO, PPE, forklift safety, confined space, and new-hire orientation . Perform safety audits, inspections, observations, and risk assessments. Support compliance with OSHA and industrial safety regulations . Investigate accidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and forklift/material-handling incidents. Coach employees on safe behaviors and correct unsafe practices in real time. Maintain accurate records for training, audits, inspections, and incident investigations. Partner with the Safety Manager, leadership, and Safety Team on continuous safety improvements. Work weekends or off-hours as operational needs require. What We're Looking For Strong, long-term forklift operating experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility required. Experience operating multiple types of forklifts/PIT equipment , such as sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, clamp truck, or similar equipment. Experience safely operating equipment in high-traffic, congested areas with both forklift and pedestrian traffic . 2-4 years minimum of industrial/manufacturing safety experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of forklift/PIT safety, LOTO, PPE, hazard recognition, and OSHA requirements . Experience coaching, training, or correcting employees on safe equipment operation and workplace safety. Ability to confidently communicate and enforce safety expectations on the manufacturing floor. OSHA Forklift Trainer Certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred or ability to complete within 6 months. CPR/First Aid certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months. Strong attention to detail, documentation, communication, and follow-through. Ideal Background We are specifically seeking candidates with hands-on industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, production, or material-handling safety experience. This position is best suited for someone who understands the day-to-day safety challenges of forklift-intensive manufacturing operations and is comfortable working directly on the production floor.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
