As our company continues to expand, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fleet & Safety Coordinator to support the daily administrative operations of our fleet maintenance and safety programs.
Position Overview:
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting the company's transportation safety and compliance programs. This position monitors driver safety performance, conducts video audits, maintains safety documentation, assists with incident investigations, and analyzes safety data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, comfortable enforcing company policies, and able to communicate effectively with drivers and management.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Audits:
Conduct regular video audits to monitor driver safety, identify unsafe behaviors, and ensure compliance with company standards.
Safety Monitoring:
Review safety information and identify potential risks or recurring driver behavior concerns.
Data Collection & Analysis:
Track and analyze safety metrics to identify trends and provide recommendations for improvement.
Incident Documentation:
Assist with documenting accidents, incidents, safety violations, and corrective actions.
Safety Records:
Maintain accurate records of safety training, inspections, compliance activities, and incident investigations.
Driver Communication:
Communicate with drivers regarding safety expectations, policies, and identified concerns.
Compliance Support:
Assist management with maintaining compliance with company safety procedures and applicable transportation requirements.
Corrective Action Follow-Up:
Track safety-related action items and ensure required follow-up is completed.
Safety Reporting:
Prepare reports and summaries for management regarding safety trends, incidents, and areas requiring attention. Assist with safety meetings, training initiatives, and other safety-related projects as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred. Previous experience in transportation, logistics, safety, compliance, or administrative coordination preferred. Strong attention to detail and observational skills. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Ability to analyze information and recognize patterns or recurring safety concerns. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable communicating directly with drivers and management regarding safety concerns. Basic computer skills and proficiency with spreadsheets, reports, and recordkeeping systems. Knowledge of
DOT/FMCSA
regulations is preferred but not required. Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling accident, driver, and safety records.
