Safety Representative Elecnor Belco Electric - 3.9 Grand Prairie, TX Job Details Full-time 3 hours ago Benefits AD&D insurance Health insurance Dental insurance Flexible spending account Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Federal construction safety regulations Spanish CPR Certification Construction regulatory compliance English Occupational Safety And Health Administration Outreach Training Program 30-Hour Driver's License First Aid Certification Construction industry experience OSHA 30-Hour Construction Technical skills instruction Productivity software Occupational safety risk assessments Associate's degree Technical Proficiency Full Job Description Why This Role Matters Our crews work around energized equipment, in open trenches, and inside live traffic control zones. A hazard nobody flagged, a JHA that didn't match actual site conditions, a new hire who never got a real orientation — any one of those can change someone's life in a few seconds. You'll spend most days on active jobsites, walking the work with foremen, catching risks while they're still small, and helping crews find a safer way to get the job done. You'll see the results directly: audits that come back clean, and crews who bring you a concern before it becomes an incident. What You'll Do Audit active jobsites identifying hazards and working with project leadership on corrective actions and compliance. Deliver new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and safety stand-downs, and keep training and certification records current. Investigate incidents and near misses, root cause analysis, and coordinate. Support and audit the company's IIPP, maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and client-specific requirements, and recommend policy updates as regulations and field conditions change. Advise Project Managers and Foremen on complex safety issues. Participate in pre-construction planning and site mobilizations, and represent the Safety Department with clients, auditors, and regulatory agencies. What You Need 3+ years of safety experience in construction, utilities, or heavy civil. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field. Equivalent construction safety experience will be considered in place of a degree. Working knowledge of OSHA, excavation standards, and job hazard analysis. Ability to deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and incident interviews in both English and Spanish. A substantial portion of our field workforce is Spanish-speaking; safety instruction and incident investigation must be conducted effectively in both languages. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort learning new compliance or safety platforms. Valid driver's license: you'll travel between multiple active jobsites daily and respond to incidents on short notice. Current First Aid and CPR certification, or ability to obtain before start date. OSHA 30 (Construction). Current trainer certification in core construction discipline — for example fall protection, aerial or bucket lift, confined space entry, or trench and excavation safety.
