Construction Safety Coordinator

Job Description

Construction Safety Coordinator Position Summary The Construction Safety Coordinator is responsible for helping ensure that company employees, subcontractors, and job sites operate safely and in compliance with OSHA, company policies, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements. This position works closely with project managers, superintendents, foremen, and field employees to identify hazards, provide safety training, conduct inspections, and promote a strong safety culture. Essential Responsibilities Conduct regular job-site safety inspections. Identify unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions. Help ensure employees follow company safety policies and OSHA requirements. Conduct and document safety meetings and toolbox talks. Assist with employee safety orientation and training. Maintain safety records, inspection reports, training records, and incident documentation. Investigate accidents, injuries, near misses, and property-damage incidents. Assist management in developing corrective and preventive actions. Monitor proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Help ensure proper traffic control, work-zone protection, and safe work practices. Review job-site conditions and assist supervisors with hazard assessments. Communicate safety concerns to project management and field supervision. Assist with OSHA compliance and respond to safety-related requests or inspections. Support emergency response procedures. Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the company. Perform other safety-related duties as assigned. Qualifications 2+ years of construction safety or field construction experience preferred. Knowledge of OSHA construction safety requirements. Ability to recognize common construction hazards. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and with field personnel. Ability to travel to multiple job sites. Must be comfortable working outdoors and in active construction environments. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred. CPR/First Aid certification preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to walk construction sites and inspect active work areas. Ability to climb, bend, stoop, and navigate uneven terrain. Ability to wear required PPE. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Key Performance Expectations Reduce workplace injuries and incidents. Maintain accurate and timely safety documentation. Ensure safety issues are identified and corrected promptly. Provide effective safety communication and training. Help maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety requirements. Promote a professional, safety-first culture throughout the organization.
Pay:
$54,703.86 - $65,879.91 per year
