is seeking a hands-on Safety Representative to support safety operations at our Rhome, Texas manufacturing facility and assist with construction/project locations as needed. The Safety Representative will work closely with department managers, supervisors, employees, and project teams to promote a strong safety culture, identify and correct workplace hazards, provide safety training, and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety standards. The ideal candidate will have practical safety experience in both manufacturing and construction environments, including experience with rigging, heavy lifting, material handling, and the safe movement of structural steel and large components. Key Responsibilities Promote and maintain a proactive safety culture throughout the facility. Work closely with department managers to identify their specific safety needs, concerns, hazards, and training requirements. Partner with department managers to develop and implement safety solutions based on the needs of their individual departments. Conduct routine safety inspections of manufacturing, warehouse, yard, and work areas. Identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, and potential workplace hazards and assist with corrective actions. Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, PPE requirements, and established safe-work practices. Conduct and document safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee safety training. Assist with incident, injury, property damage, and near-miss investigations. Participate in root-cause investigations and track corrective actions through completion. Perform job hazard analyses and risk assessments as needed. Monitor proper use of PPE and reinforce safety expectations with employees and supervisors. Monitor and reinforce safe rigging, lifting, hoisting, and material-handling practices. Identify hazards associated with lifting and moving large structural steel components and other heavy materials. Observe lifting and rigging operations and ensure proper use and inspection of slings, shackles, hooks, chains, hoists, lifting devices, and other rigging equipment. Work with department managers to evaluate lifting and rigging needs and implement appropriate safety controls. Support forklift, overhead crane, hoist, welding/fabrication, material-handling, and other manufacturing safety programs. Support construction-related safety activities when assigned to project locations. Maintain accurate safety records, inspection documentation, training records, and incident reports. Assist with emergency preparedness and response procedures. Communicate safety concerns and recommendations to management. Follow up with departments to ensure identified safety issues are corrected. Travel to GNB project or construction locations as required. Experience & Qualifications Previous professional experience in workplace safety required. Experience in a manufacturing environment required. Construction safety experience required. Experience with rigging, heavy lifting, cranes/hoists, and movement of structural steel or other large industrial materials strongly preferred. Working knowledge of OSHA General Industry and Construction safety requirements. Experience conducting workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations. Experience providing safety training and toolbox talks. Ability to work effectively with production employees, supervisors, department managers, and project teams. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate safety documentation. Comfortable working in active manufacturing and construction environments. Ability to address unsafe behaviors professionally and consistently. Ability to travel approximately 15
25%, depending on project needs. Licenses, Certifications & Safety Qualifications The following certifications and qualifications are preferred: OSHA 30-Hour
General Industry and/or Construction Qualified/Competent Person Rigging Training or recognized Rigging Safety Certification Qualified Signal Person Training/Certification Overhead Crane and Hoist Safety Training CSP
Certified Safety Professional STSC
Safety Trained Supervisor Construction CHST
Construction Health and Safety Technician CPR/First Aid Certification Additional training or certification related to rigging, heavy lifting, material handling, crane operations, and safe movement of structural steel is highly preferred.
